Rap music is for everybody as it tells the story of everybody. Throughout the years, we’ve heard several rap songs that were inspired by profound and deep backstories. Here are some of these rap songs.
“A Lot” by 21 Savage featuring J. Cole
21 Savage, born Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph is still establishing his legacy in the world. He is not a newcomer nor the other way around. “A lot” for his 2018 album “I am > I was” is truly by far his most emotional and meaningful song so far.
The song talked about so many things in his life including his childhood, the rap industry, violence, racism, money, fame, and so much more. In summary, 21 Savage rapped about the many struggles he faced growing up that many people can relate to.
The song was awarded a Grammy for Best Rap Song in 2020.
One Day by Logic
Logic is one of the hottest rappers right now and he has been since 2017. Logic made use of his platform to shed light on the biggest issues millions of people are facing all over the globe today. One of which was his 2017 track “1-800-273-8255” with Alessia Cara and Khalid. The song talked about suicide caused by several issues including gender equality.
Logic released yet another emotional song titled “One Day.” The music was mostly about Logic, real name Sir Robert Bryson Hall II’s, success in the rap game. The music video of the song, however, depicted a stronger inspiration about the big issue with border control and separation of family in the United States. The song also showed an already clear picture of racism in the country.
