2019 was a big one for rap music. Rap beef between old-timers and newcomers, surprise albums, and so much more. Even with a couple of months in for 2020, rap fans across the globe still debate about the top rap album of 2019.

Well, we’d like to get in on the discussion and give you all our top rap albums of 2019.

ZUU – Denzel Curry

Denzel Curry is among the new generation of rappers. Curry from Florida is truly one of the best new rap stars of this generation in terms of skills and lyricism. His album “ZUU” released on May 31, 2019, was a masterpiece.

In the album, Curry talked about growing up in South Florida and falling in love with rap at a young age. The album had 12 songs and most notable was “Ricky” inspired by his father with the same name.

The Lost Boy – YBN Cordae

Yet another newcomer in the world of hip-hop. YBN Cordae set the standards for rap high for the new wave of rap artists and those still coming. “The Lost Boy” had 15 songs and Cordae collaborated with several fellow rappers including Meek Mill, Pusha T, Ty Dolla Sign, Anderson Paak, and Chance the Rapper.

The album gave Cordae his first-ever Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. The album was recognized not only by fans but by legendary rappers like Puff Daddy and Eminem. Rap fans are now waiting for Cordae to drop yet another album.

IGOR – Tyler the Creator

Tyler the Creator is one of the most controversial, influential, and brilliant rap artists of all time. He has been in the rap game since 2007. Tyler the Creator, real name Tyler Gregory Okonma, has been the subject of so many issues for a couple of years.

However, that is all in the past and Tyler has proven himself to be one of the greatest in the rap game. “IGOR,” was his fifth album released on May 17, 2019. The album was a masterpiece and it gave Tyler his first-ever Grammy win for Best Rap Album of the Year.
